Signboard Hanging Ceremony of PNU And Hyundai Heavy-Industries Technology Cooperation Center

On March 4th, a signboard hanging ceremony for the Pusan National University (PNU) Hyundai Heavy-Industries Technology Cooperation Center (TCC) was held in the Mechanical Technology Research Building to announce the opening. Cha Jung-In, the president of PNU, and An Kwang-Hun, the president of Hyundai Heavy Industries, attended the event.

TCC will focus on developing the core technology of the Heavy-Industry Field as their first assignment and new technology, seminar host, and industry-academic problem resolution. Through this, the industry-academic cooperation will also give the green light to the employment of our university students willing to get a job in the heavy industry sector.

PNU Medical University Development Foundation signed an agreement with related agencies to build Haeng-Lim Building, an Alumni hall in Lotte Hotel Busan, and created the essential property of the Foundation at 10 billion won. Seven institutions of our university's medical school attended the signing ceremony, and the representatives of each institution plan to serve as business advisors. 

When the Haeng-Lim Building construction is completed, it will become the nation's largest Foundation Alumni hall. Also, the earnings from the building and the interest income of the basic property, 10 billion won, will be used for the development of our university.

 

Pusan National University & Korea Rainwater Association, Solving Water Shortage Together

On March 11th, PNU's Korea Institute of Green Infrastructure Low Impact Development Center (GILIDC) and the Korea Rainwater Association (KRA) signed a business agreement for research and development (R&D) projects and human resources exchange between industry and academia.

Through this agreement, the R&D area of the GILIDC is up to meet with the KRA's water circulation system to make great synergy. The cooperation between the two organizations will accelerate the development of products that can be used in the field and open the era of the Green New Deal in Korea.

KRA is studying the use and management of rainwater with the awareness of the water shortage problems. Meanwhile, the GILIDC is conducting a green infrastructure project with a team of professors from PNU. They are divided into R&D, Education, Technology Certification, and Industry-Academic Cooperation.

 

 

Field-Linked Future Lead Talent Training Support Project Accepted

On March 11th, it was finally selected for the 2022 Field-linked Future Lead Talent Training Support Project by the Ministry of Science and ICT. Four national university consortiums will choose on designated topics such as Smart Parts Materials, Smart Cities, Smart Marine Ecology, Smart Energy, or self-proposed free issues. They are subsidized yearly for their project expenses. 

From this month to December 2025, PNU will form a consortium with Pukyong National University, Kunsan National University, and Mokpo National University to operate the "East-West Convergence Smart Technology Practical Project Research Group" and foster science and engineering talent.

As a result, students will be able to establish a cooperative system with industries. Students from the four universities will be able to propose ideas to solve problems while cooperating with a practical research team consisting of instructors, graduate students, and undergraduate industry mentors. Through the project, PNU supports students in identifying the demand for problems occurring in the field and creating ideas to plan research tasks.
